José Abascal (1743-1821) as patron gives name to the Marqués de la Concordia brand of umbrellas and seal of quality. Abascal was crowned by the Spanish King Ferdinand VII in 1812 with the noble title of Marquis of Concordia of Peru. In his role as viceroy, he expedited social reform, the transfer of knowledge and cooperation between Creoles and Spaniards in the best harmony.

Elaboration

From selected vineyards in the sub-area of Rioja Alta and Alavesa with an average of more than 25 years. Traditional production method based on a selection of the best grapes from the estate, harvested by hand at their optimum point of ripeness and after selecting the fruits in perfect condition. Harvested by hand in boxes of 12 kg.

Fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aging in Alliers and Nevers French oak barrels with medium toasting and aging for 18 months.  

It is only made in years of exceptional quality.

Food match

Ideal to accompany meat dishes, roasts and cheeses, it goes well with barbecued quail, pizza trays or a plate of pasta with pesto.
